Members of KP-TNC
Members of KP-TNC are umbrella Key Population bodies representing the eight (8) target countries: Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia, Zanzibar, Malawi, Ghana and South Sudan. The KP-TNC is open to enlisting members from other countries as will be decided by the Leadership Committee periodically. To be a member of KP-TNC, a Country umbrella body for Key Populations must formally apply and adhere to all stipulations of the KP-TNC Governance Manual.
Applications for KP-TNC Membership
A Country umbrella body for Key Populations wishing to become a KP-TNC member may apply in writing to the Secretariat at any time. The Secretariat of KP-TNC together with the Leadership Committee will review each application and, if appropriate, certify that the applicant meets the qualifications for membership as provided in this Governance Manual. If an application is successful, the applicant umbrella body for Key Populations will enter into a membership agreement with KP-TNC.
Application Process:

- Include documentation demonstrating alignment with KP-TNC’s mission, vision, objectives, and adherence to governance principles.
- The application will be reviewed by The Secretariat of KP-TNC together with the Leadership Committee
- Successful applicants will sign a membership agreement outlining rights, responsibilities, and adherence to KP-TNC governance standards.
Membership Register
The KP-TNC Secretariat will maintain a membership register recording the designated representatives of each country’s umbrella body for Key Populations. This register will also indicate the status of member organizations, including whether they are in good standing or if their membership has been terminated.

Good Standing Criteria:
To remain in good standing, member organizations must:
- Adhere to KP-TNC Governance Manual principles and guidelines.
- Actively participate in KP-TNC activities, meetings, and initiatives.
- When required, submit relevant reports on their activities and Organizational Documents (e.g., Consortium Profile, Policies, etc.) in compliance with KP-TNC Governance standards.
Termination of Membership:
Membership can be terminated if an organization fails to comply with KP-TNC standards, engages in activities contrary to the network’s values, or breaches the membership agreement. The process involves:
- Formal review by the Leadership Committee.
- Notice of intent to terminate and opportunity for the member to respond.
- Final decision by the Leadership Committee, which may include consultation with other members.
